We were on the River Tosca when the protests in Egypt began in January 2011. The staff and our tour guides were amazing. Even though they were worried about homes and families (and their jobs), they made keeping the guests happy and safe a priority. This makes Uniworld A+!  -Bill & Gerry

UniWorld goes beyond my expectations. As a single traveler I never felt out of place or alone. On a scale of 1 - 10 I give them 15+. The “Splendors of Egypt” is an exceptional tour. One that seasoned travelers shouldn’t miss. The ship ‘River Tocsa” is a beauty in every way. The staff and crew are so available and friendly and entertaining. The beauty of each suite is 5 Star. The public areas inviting. The food exceptionable. The parties a real blast that all can enjoy and take part in. Our tour guide was like a brother who was ... passionate about the history and beauty of Egypt and ever so knowledgeable about many other things and willing to share all. This was comfort at all levels. The only one negative, the “T” paper. The robes and towels that were furnished were sooo soft. Views from the room so peaceful and exciting. All of the activities and trips were beyond my dreams. A lot of temples but each has it’s own special beauty. To see the Pyramids and the extra trip to Abu Simbel are indescribable. Even having seen them I don’t believe it. So big and man made. WOW! & HOW? There were no glitches in all of the travel. UniWorld is a great company to work with. Our third Uniworld trip - it delivered as advertised. Stunning scenery, excellent guides, on-board service and ambiance was fantastic. Tours were enhanced by using the audio system - if you have small ear canals, bring your own headphones as the ones provided are large. The sites bustled with activity and local people hustling their wares. Good deals on souvenirs - list to your guides recommendations about when & where to buy. Bargaining is an art form and not for the faint of heart. The staff of both ships were helpful,  pleasanprofessional andt. The Chef was everywhere, overseeing food preparation and ... presentation, making recommendations, urging us to try this or that. He and his staff were a delight. Weather in January was cool and clear. We where aboard the Prince Abbas for the Lake Nassar leg of the journey and River Tosca for the Nile portion. The cabins were huge and well appointed. I went on the Classic Egypt in May, 2010 and it was the trip of a lifetime. The Egyptologist who served as our tour guide made history come alive, the Cairo Marriott was a fantastic hotel and the River Tosca and the Nile Cruise were perfection. This is the way to truly see Egypt -- its history and its culture. Every day was full of the sights and marvels you have read about in the history books but never believed you might actually see. What a lovely ship, spacious cabins, friendly & attentive staff. While Cairo is a crowded and hectic city, it is a must see to explore the pyramids & the wonderful Egyptian museum. Cruising up the Nile on the other hand is a calm & peaceful experience, with wonderful temples & tombs along the way.
